Sale Ends Today
It is the new year and a number of the Year End Closeouts and Sales have ended. At least so we think. So today is really the last day for these incentives. Cars.com has a synopsis of what expires today . Go get em.

I will be off until the 30th. Remember this is the best time of year to buy a car. Lot of inventories on the lot, year end sales, quotas to be met.

GM Hikes Prices
So all I tell you here is buy cars now, buy cars now, excess inventory, blah blah blah.

Now GM is hiking prices on some its models . Prices will go up 1.5 percent on average, though certain vehicles "in hotly contested segments" will be spared increases, including the new four-cylinder Saturn Aura sedan and the base model of Chevrolet's made-over Malibu sedan....

Most Researched Cars
MSN has an article on its most researched cars . Not sure what you can glean from this since there are ads on the pages which push you to the cars. But this does give you an indication what people can afford and want to drive.

GM Adds to Incentives
GM keeps adding to its incentives. The new offer includes $1,000 bonus cash on purchases of 2008 models, including the GMC Yukon and Pontiac Torrent SUVs and Chevrolet Silverado regular cab picks. Gasoline-powered heavy-duty pickups carry $1,500 incentives, and diesel versions get $2,500. Some 2007 models are included.

2007 Tundra Recall
Toyota produced the largest number of Toyota trucks in its history in a bid to become the #1 selling truck. Well maybe they just experienced a setback . They are recalling 16,000 2007 Tundras because of a soft rear drive shaft. By the way they still have a number of Tundra's on the lots

Nissan Rogue Review
News is not slow today and we usually only link reviews on slow news days but I thought the Detroit News review of the new Nissan Rogue Crossover was an interesting read. The headline of the article somewhat differs from the reviewers opinion making you wonder what is at work there. But for 19K if it is safe and seats 5 people comfortably.

Truck Surplus
Big problems at GM, Dodge and Toyota with truck inventory surpluses . Dealers need to move these trucks and GM has an almost 5 month supply of them. So if you need a new truck there are great deals out there right now. Remember negotiate.

Ford Recalls 1.2 Million
Ford is recalling 1.2 million bad boy trucks, sport-utility vehicles and vans to fix an engine sensor that could lead to engine stalling and then a possible crash..

Cars affected are the 1997-2003 model years with 7.3 liter diesel engines, including the Ford E-Series van, Excursion full-size SUV, and F-450 Super Duty and F-550 Super Duty trucks.
